On Saturday July 22, 2017 the Bourne Historical Society is hosting Colonial Day at the Aptucxet Museum Complex from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
This family-friendly day will feature Colonial encampments and Militia re-enactment groups including: the Crew of the Raven, the New Plimmoth Gard, Yarmouth Minutemen and Dartmouth Militia. Come see the Colonial Gardens in full bloom and take a tour of the historical Aptucxet Trading Post, established in 1627. Enjoy lunch at the AMC Grill overlooking the Cape Cod Canal and as a special treat we will be serving homemade blueberry pie and ice cream.
The Grover Cleveland Gray Gables Railroad Station will be open for tours and the Joseph Jefferson Windmill Art Gallery and the Trading Post Gift Shop will be open to visitors. This should be a fun and educational day for all! Admission is Free.
Pilgrim Progress Celebration

On Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 7:30am the Bourne Historical Society continues the weekend celebration of colonial history with an historical re-enactment of a 1627 Pilgrim church service performed by the Pilgrim Progress Players of Plymouth. The service will include psalm singing, a brief history and a “sermon” taken from the notes of John Robinson, pastor of the Pilgrims. Service begins at 7:30am at the Aptucxet Trading Post with light refreshments following.
These events are free and open to the public and will be held rain or shine!
